Measure V builds a stronger, more united Watsonville where
all who call Watsonville home can contribute to our shared future.
all who call Watsonville home can contribute to our shared future.
Currently, only registered voters can serve on city commissions, excluding many dedicated residents who contribute to our community. Measure V offers us a chance to change that by updating the city charter to expand eligibility for city commissions, allowing all residents to contribute to shaping the future of our city.
Measure V recognizes the wealth of talent and experience that exists in all corners of our community. By updating our city charter to allow all residents to serve, we ensure that our city’s decisions are informed by the diverse perspectives that truly represent Watsonville.

Civic engagement, in all its forms, is important. Ensuring all residents are eligible to serve on commissions drives Watsonville in the right direction!
Our Watsonville City Charter states that commissions are advisory bodies to the Council and only City Council members have the authority to appoint commissioners and approve commission recommendations.
Our commissions are directed to reflect our diversity to better inform issues impacting our homes, local economy, streets, parks, schools, and more.
We ARE a DIVERSE community. Watsonville is made up of smart, talented people and Measures V ensures we tap into their knowledge to guide our city forward.
